Expert for Nature Tourism/Active Tourism
Context of assignment:
The Product Development component of the NorthWest Tourism Project is to identify special interest tourism products which can be made ready for further marketing. Some preparatory work such as a product inventory or profiles for various tourism products have already been accomplished. On this basis, the expert shall carry out further research and portray in detail some selected products, i.e. water-related active tourism or winter sport.
Job description
Tasks:
The expert is expected to carry out the following assignments:
- Collect detailed information on the selected products
- Take up contact with the respective product suppliers and inquire about quality, distribution problems and support needs
- Prepare a detailed assessment of the selected product
- Conduct a comparative analysis of selected products with other Russian regions
- Organise one or several workshops with product suppliers
- Propose ideas and models of how to bundle products from different regions
The expert will work closely with the International Expert (s) engaged in Product development.
Requirements:
- Several years work experience in tourism
- Practical work experience with local tourism suppliers, tourism associations or information offices
- Very good knowledge of tourism in NorthWest Russia
- Organisation skills
- Writing and communication capability in English
